PRE-INSTALLATION OF HID KIT
If you are unsure about installing the kit, we strongly advise professional installation
-
Check the headlight housings to ensure they are not damaged.
-
If installing with a relay cable make sure there is no corrosion on the battery posts
-
Make sure the vehicle does not have any pre-existing electrical problems.
-
The vehicle must have a pre-existing 12V NEGATIVE ground system.
-
Vehicles with a single fuse for both lights must have a fuse at least 30 amps.
-
If there is one fuse per headlight, each fuse must be at least 20 amps.
-
Before attaching the power adapter, identify the ballast's positive and negative wires.
-
Never touch any bulb with your bare hands. If touched accidentally, use alcohol to clean the surface.
-
Before connecting the wires and harness, you must clean all connectors, especially the AMP connector.
-
Once the headlights are installed, start the engine and turn on the lights. You should leave the lights on for at least 5 to 15 minutes to ensure that the burn-in process is complete.
-
Due to the occurrence of high voltage, please make sure the connections among the ballast, the igniter, and the light bulb are properly insulated and packed when installing the HID lamp.
-
Do not look into the light directly when the HID is lit up to avoid visual hazards.
-
Avoid contact with the light bulb while it is lit or has just been extinguished to prevent burning by its high temperature.
Please do not install the ballast, the igniter, and the connection wires close to the engine
After installation and testing, make sure that the ballast and the igniter are fixed firmly in place. Depending on the space available, tie the wires in small bundles with cable ties in an orderly manner. Avoid simply knitting or bundling all of the wires together to prevent degradation.
Troubleshooting
Problem: - In many cases, especially for those cars that have Auto "ON" or Daytime Running Lights; one or both lights cannot Ignite Initially, Discharge Bulb turns off just after start of the car, or even sometimes, bulb just turns off when driving.
- Damage:
Fried ballast, internally damage or burn the discharge bulb Gas Capsule.
- Solution:
You MUST Disconnect the Daytime Running Light or Auto Switch ON function immediately before the actual HID Conversion. Due to the Steady levels of battery voltage at 12V the battery doesn't have enough power to switch on the "Auto On" feature which uses 7V and the HID system which requires 12V at the same time.
- if you have Daytime Running Light please follow your car s service manual; disconnect the fuse or wiring of Daytime Running lights only.
- If you have Auto Switch On Headlights, please switch the function to Manual Switch On headlights. To avoid further damages, always remember to start your engine before turn on the HID system!
Other Troubleshooting Tips
My ballasts are making a noise when I turn them on: This is normal. Some ballasts make a noise when they turn on for the first time, but the noise will go away after the bulb reaches its full potential.
My bulb does not turn on: Check the wiring to ensure that is was connected according to the instructions. You can switch the bulbs and ballasts to find out what the problem may be.
My bulb seems to flicker and does not turn on: The bulbs will begin to strobe and flicker because the car’s computer is confused by the HID kits lower power usage. To fix this problem, install a relay to stabilize the power delivered to the HID lit.
